The house is on the B.C. Hydro power grid. The extension of the house and the bathroom are heated with dated baseboard heaters. The thermostat is located at the bottom of the carpeted stairs near the laundry room.

Sadly, electricity on Mayne is very expensive so just keep that in mind when heating the house in cold weather.

Please return the thermostat to a low temperature when you leave.

Wood stove

You’re welcome to use the fireplace for kicks or to heat the arched building. Try to avoid smokey fires as they let creosote build up in the chimney, which is a fire hazard.
